Improved Multiple Peak Fit Tool

The Analysis: Peaks and Baseline: Multiple Peaks Fit which existed in previous versions, is intended for customers to perform quick fitting of multiple peak data. In the past versions this tool created a custom report that was different from NLfit report, and the tool did not provide any control over fixing parameters or specifying bounds. Multiple customers complained saying they want the easy functionality to double click and pick peaks, but at the same time want control on parameters.

This tool has been changed to behave in the following way:

  • The tool now first asks user to select a Peak function, and ALL peak functions are now listed
  • After selecting function and closing dialog, user can simply double-click to pick desired number of peaks and their approximate position
  • Once user is done with selecting peaks, there are two buttons available: "Fit" and "Open NLFit"
  • Fit would simply fit the data with no further user interaction or control
  • Open NLFit would open the NLFit dialog to the Parameters tab, and user can further control the parameters before fitting, such as specifying limits on width etc.
  • The report that is generated is an NLFit report. The number of replicas is set using the information provided by the user.
  • User can open the NLFit dialog back to make further changes to the fitting

NLFit Improvements

  • Allow entering parameters in Date/Time format on Parameters tab.
