Summary

All analysis tools from previous versions have been replaced with new tools in Origin 8 and later versions. The new tools support Themes and scripting and are based on X-Functions.

To get help with any of the new X-Functions, use :

X-FunctionName -h;
help X-FunctionName;

For example,

nlfit -h;
help nlfit;

Users may still want to access the tools from the older versions for some particular reason. The following sections outline how to launch the old version tools in version 8 or later versions.

Linear Regression

The Linear Fit tool has been replaced with the Linear Regression tool and the fitlr X-Function.

To run the old tool, use :

dialog.start(otools,lr);

Polynomial Regression

The Polynomial Fit tool has been replaced with the Polynomial Regression tool and the fitpoly X-Function.

To run the old tool, use :

dialog.start(otools,pr);

Sigmoidal Regression

The Sigmoidal Fit tool has been replaced with the Nonlinear Curve Fitting tool and the nlfit X-Function.

To run the old tool, use :

dialog.start(otools,sr);

Baseline

The Baseline tool has been replaced with the Peak Analyzer dialog and the pa X-Function.

To run the old tool, use :

dialog.start(otools,baseline);

Pick Peaks

The Pick Peaks tool has been replaced with the Peak Analyzer dialog and the pa X-Function.

To run the old tool, use :

dialog.start(otools,pickpeak);

Smoothing

The Smooth tool has been replaced with the Smooth dialog and the smooth X-Function.

To run the old tool, use :

dialog.start(otools,smooth);

NLSF

The NLSF tool has been replaced with the Nonlinear Curve Fitter and the nlfit X-Function.
